Hogeun Chi, DDS

Dr. Hogeun Chi was born in South Korea and moved to the US at the age of eleven. He grew up in Bethpage and Port Washington on Long Island.

He did his Undergraduate studies at SUNY Albany, before attending Post-Graduate studies at Columbia University for Human Nutrition. From there, he followed his passion into dentistry  and continued his studies at New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. 

Dr. Chi is married to his wife, Lee, who is working alongside Dr. Chi as his office manager to provide assistance with administrative work, billing, insurance inquiries and more. They have two cats, Milky (Domestic Short Hair) and Cream (Scottish Fold), and one dog, Mocha (Mini-Aussie). They like to go hiking and camping with Mocha and in his spare time, Dr. Chi likes to play golf and soccer. 

Dr. Chi is known for his pleasant chairside manner and is happy to openly discuss the treatment process with his patients to help them feel at ease and make informed decisions for their dental health. Dr. Chi and his team strives to provide quality care for his patients and they are excited to welcome new patients. 

David

Dental Hygienist

David graduated with honors from Hudson Valley Community College's Dental Hygiene program in 2015 and has been practicing ever since. He has worked for several successful practices while honing his skills along the way. He became interested in dental hygiene after experiencing his own dental issues as an adult while never once having any cavities or other issues growing up.

After he joined Dr.Chi's team at Evergreen Dental Care, he has been providing therapeutic dental treatment and patient education, helping patients maintain their smile and oral health. He treats every patient like a long time friend and does everything possible to make them relaxed and comfortable. He goes above and beyond to provide effective, gentle treatment to each and every patient he meets. He prides himself on providing patient education, dedicating to using his knowledge and skills to help patients in understanding their specific situations and needs, and guiding patients on enhancing their home care skills. 

David is also a local history buff and a classic car enthusiast and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors during his spare time. 

Wendy

Dental Hygienist

Wendy is originally from the Boston area and moved to the Capital Region with her husband and 2 children in 2004. Although her background was originally in Accounting and Human
Resources, after being a stay at home mom for 10 years and spending a lot of time in her children’s classrooms, she realized she wanted to spend more time helping and educating
people. So began her journey into Dental Hygiene. She graduated from Hudson Valley Community College’s Dental Hygiene program in 2013 and has enjoyed helping patients maintain their oral health in private practice for the last 13 years.

Wendy is dedicated in providing each patient with thorough dental care and personalized patient education to help them maintain their oral health, as well as their overall health. She believes that treating every patient like a family member is the first step in helping patients feel comfortable in a dental setting. Upon arrival, patients are greeted with her warm and welcoming demeanor and are provided with a quality of care with her thorough but gentle touch during their visit. She understands each patient is unique and is dedicated to using her skills and knowledge in guiding patients to help them achieve their optimal oral health. 

In her free time, Wendy enjoys taking walks with her dog, Lucy, and doing anything outdoors. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and children. 

Jhanae

Dental Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator

Jhanae is a native New Yorker from Brooklyn who brings a unique background in hospitality, customer service, and leadership to the dental field. She attended Colby College, where she studied English and Sociology. After years of working in hospitality and developing a passion for creating positive experiences for others, Jhanae found a natural connection between her previous career and her growing interest in dentistry. She has always had an interest in health, wellness, and preventive care, which ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in dentistry. Her hospitality background has taught her the importance of anticipating needs, communicating clearly, and paying attention to the small details that can make a significant difference in someone’s experience.

At Evergreen Dental Care, Jhanae supports both the clinical and administrative aspects of the practice. Her responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting with patient appointments, scheduling and confirmations, answering patient questions, and coordinating communication between patients and the dental team. In the back, she assists Dr.Chi in preparing treatment areas, maintaining proper sterilization and infection-control procedures, assisting Dr.Chi during clinical procedures, chairside, with various procedures such as fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, implant and denture procedures, taking dental radiographs and CBCT scans, taking scans using primescans and pouring models for patients' nightguards, retainers or dentures for patients of all ages.

Jhanae is passionate about continuing to learn and grow within the dentistry field and plans to pursue dental hygiene in the future. She looks forward to learning from Dr.Chi and the team while continuing to provide personalized, attentive care in the front and back of the practice. 

Outside of the office, Jhanae enjoys spending time with her family, experimenting with vegetarian dishes, staying active, watching sunrises, and reading a good horror novel or watching a horror film.
