CEREC crowns machine

CEREC Crowns and Bridges

Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics or CEREC is leading-edge dental technology, enabling our team to provide the best service to our patients. Ceramic dental crowns and bridges are available on the same day as your initial appointment, unlike other types of crowns and bridges that require 2-3 weeks of waiting time between the first appointment and the second.

CEREC dental crowns are designed by the dentist in-office using a digital image of the teeth and jaw.

In addition, ceramic crowns:

  • Create a natural-looking, tooth-like appearance
  • Provide superior functionality and comfort
  • Are more durable compared to some other material options
  • Are often more affordable than lab-created dental crowns

Digital Sensors at Evergreen Dental care

Digital Sensors

New x-ray technology makes capturing images of your teeth and jaw easier than ever before. The device is small and fits easily into a section of the patient's mouth, and the dentist can take an x-ray of the area in a few moments. This simple process provides the dentist with clear, crisp digital x-rays with no discomfort to the patient.

laser dentistry in troy ny

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry is a technology at our office that we use to improve the patient experience and perform specific procedures comfortably and with more favorable long-term outcomes.  We commonly use dental lasers as follows:

  • Treat hypersensitivity in teeth
  • Minimize bleeding during gum surgery and protect the surrounding area
  • Stimulate healthy tissue growth
  • Help treat periodontal disease
  • Treat gummy smiles and remove excess tissue
  • Remove growths and tumors on soft tissue

Speak with Dr. Chi during your exam to discuss your options and whether or not laser dentistry will benefit you.

Panoramic X-Rays in troy ny

Panoramic X-Rays

While traditional x-rays focus on a portion of the mouth, panoramic x-rays capture a picture of the whole mouth, including the teeth, jaws, and surrounding bone, as well as biological landmarks like sinuses. The process takes only about a minute for the dentist to perform, and this snapshot of the patient's mouth can be quite helpful in diagnosing dental issues. Therefore, Dr. Chi may recommend one every few years as part of his patient's routine check-ups to look for signs of problems like oral cancer, cysts, or growths.

Panoramic x-rays are also beneficial in specific surgical procedures, such as placing dental implants and removing wisdom teeth.

digital x-rays used in troy ny

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are the latest in x-ray imaging technology. Leaving behind the old ways of taking x-rays, the digital version provides x-rays faster, produces highly detailed images, and creates less radiation and environmental waste. Dr. Chi can use these x-rays to find and diagnose issues that might go unnoticed because they are invisible to the naked eye. Dr. Chi can use the images to clearly show his patients the problem and discuss how to fit it. The images are kept on record and can quickly be sent to other specialist dentists or doctors for things like referrals and emergencies.

Intraoral Camera at troy dental office

Intraoral Camera

This unintrusive camera was designed to be used by dentists to take high-definition videos of their patient's mouths. Only about the thickness of a toothbrush, it makes getting images and videos of the patient's mouth easier than ever before.
One of the biggest benefits of the intraoral camera is that it allows Dr. Chi to reach hard-to-see places in the mouth, which he can show his patients what he sees and use the footage to help inform them.

rotary endodontics in troy ny

Rotary Endodontics

As part of Evergreen Dental Care's commitment to providing the best service to our patients, we off rotary endodontics for root canal procedures.

Rotary endo uses titanium tips that are more flexible than stainless steel, allowing it to reach into smaller spaces with less impact on the surrounding tissue. It produces less vibration and makes the root canal procedure faster and smoother. Rotary endodontic instruments are quieter and gentler, making the process more comfortable for the patient.

Electric Handpieces at troy dental office

Electric Handpieces

Electric handpieces directly replace older, air-driven handpieces that have been around for decades and come with a number of major advantages:

  • Significantly quieter than air-driven technology, helping decrease anxiety
  • Provides better control to the dentist, resulting in better patient care outcomes
  • Maintains constant torque, unlike air-driven handpieces, which makes them better at working through dense materials. Because of this, dentists no longer have to compensate for fluctuating RPMs and produce better results.

CBCT 3-D Imaging in troy ny

CBCT 3-D Imaging

In dentistry, the use of digital imaging has revolutionized the way we approach care, especially when it comes to planning complex procedures like dental implants. With CBCT 3-D imaging, we can gain a complete view of your teeth, bone, and biological landmarks such as sinuses and nerves. This assists Dr. Chi with the planning portion of surgical procedures like dental implants, locating the ideal placement for the best outcome.

3-D digital imaging also helps when evaluating the jawbone, the root placement of teeth, and extraction procedures.

Intraoral Scanner in troy ny

Intraoral Scanner

If you have ever had a dental crown or bridge, you know the feeling of thick, pasty alginate impression material in your mouth. Digital scanning eliminates the need for goopy materials. We simply use a digital scanner to capture the teeth, bite, and gums. We then use those images to create same-day CEREC restorations right here in our Troy, NY, dental office or to share with our local dental lab when needed.

Patients love the convenience, and we love the accuracy!
